I am a software engineer from New England currently living down in Austin, Texas. I work mostly with python and javascript and focus on building web applications that delight users and infrastructure to develop products quickly and sustainably.

My current project is Saltstack from Scratch, a tutorial that takes students who've had some unix command-line exposure and gives them tools and a mental model for how to develop web infrastructure with automated tests on local virtual machines that they can reproducibly deploy to cloud services such as DigitalOcean and AWS.

I am currently seeking visa-sponsored work in the UK, EU, and Ireland. Interested parties are encouraged to view my CV, browse my writings here, and contact me by emailing amfarrell@mit.edu.

My favorite breed of chicken is the Speckled Spitzhaben.
